Homestead Farm is much more casual than Butler's Farm. At Homestead Farm, the pumpkin patch is a quick walk from the entrance. While public hayrides are available on weekends, they take a scenic ride through the farm grounds and do not stop at the pumpkin patch. Homestead is a great place to pick apples and strawberries in season, and easy to get to from DC since it is just a pleasant drive out River Road to the end, and then a few more turns. You have to love a pumpkin farm that has a Sugarland Road address.
