New Construction Spending August 2022

On October 3, 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide construction spending down 0.7% to $1,781.3 billion in August of 2022 from $1,793.5 billion July of 2022, but rose 8.5% from $1,641.6 billion in August of 2021.

Nationwide private construction lower 0.6% to $1,426.0 billion in August of 2022 from $1,435.2 billion in July of 2022.

Residential construction decreased 0.9% of $912.9 billion in August of 2022 from $921.6 billion July of 2022.

Non residential construction lost 0.1% to $513.1 billion in August of 2022 from $513.6 billion in July of 2022.

The public construction declined 0.8% to $355.3 billion in August of 2022 from $358.3 billion in July of 2022.

The educational construction down 0.4% to $77.6 billion in August of 2022 from $78.0 billion in July of 2022.

The highway construction dropped 1.4% to $102.0 billion in August of 2022 from $103.4 billion in July of 2022.

John there are many factors for this especially here in Los Angeles, difficulty  of the permit process, political road blocks, neighborhood road blocks, and then add the shortage of supplies and the list goes on and on, Endre
