Carlsbad Seagulls Need Fresh Water, Too!

Carlsbad Seagulls

\We spent an hour at the beach today on a rather cloudy, gray day, but it was still beautiful . How can time at the beach not be enjoyable?!

Carlsbad is such a thoughtful city, providing drinking fountains along the concrete boardwalk for those in need.

That includes the seagulls, who also enjoy a drink of fresh water now and then, too.

Good morning, Jeff... love the picture of the seagull enjoying some fresh water... also love the picture of the grey day and water... something very haunting about it.

Hello Jeff - seagulls are fascinating to watch. And quite bold too although I can't recall ever seeing one drink from a water fountain.

Bold is their operative word I think Michael Jacobs  Can't say I've seen one at the water fountains before, though, but they certainly hang around looking for food.

I love your photos of the seagull getting a drink. And you're right, any day at the beach is a good one.

Thanks Kat Palmiotti  It was fun to see.

It was a good time to be at the beach - no bright sun and there weren't many people. More seagulls than anything.

I really enjoy seeing that scene and I have seen it quite a few times, I am pretty sure that I have even had a drink from that fountain, haha.

Jeff that seagull might need a little assistance in pushing the button.  ☺️

Jeff Dowler, CRS - the good Lord provides water to all creatures on earth and this is a testament to that fact. You just happened to be there at the right moment. Suddenly, the cloudy gray day turned bright and joyful for you. You had your camera ready and captured two great shots. I always liked gray cloudy days on the beach in Maine. I only wish I could get back to a beach, any beach, any place, any time. There is always something wonderful to see, reflect on, and appreciate.

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

The beach IS a wonderful place to relax, even on a cloudy and gray day. Seeing this seagull at the fountain was a bright spot that day!

I hope you WILL be able to get to a beach again before too long!

Jeff Dowler, CRS - Nature's positive energy is strongest at the beach. At least that is true for me. Actually, I prefer a gray and cloudy day over too much blinding sun. I love to watch the birds at the beach. It is one of the most peaceful places on earth. You are very lucky to have it as often as you want. What better way to live life balance, than a day at the beach.

Thanks for sending positive energy my way with your way of offering hope.

I agree with everything you said - the beach, for many but perhaps not all, is a very special place. Thank you again for your thoughtful comments.
