A friend called me on Friday and said they were coming down to visit the Clover Market happening this weekend in Kennett Square, did I want to meet up? Well as I am all about discovering new things I thought it would be a good idea, so yesterday Sunday, we met up.
My friend David Mackey, the owner of the Philadelphia Print Shop now located in Wayne, PA was coming down to look at Fresh Vintage run by Chris and Colleen Allison. They were exhibiting at the Clover Market in Kennett Square. They also have space in Works also located in Kennett Square. I found the market, held close to the Consolidated District High School so parking was easy.
The market had music, a winery and brewery supplying drinks and four or five food trucks for those in need of sustenance, and of course a coffee provider as well. There were lots of different stands, selling dog treats, I bought some of those for Jackie, dog clothing, you can see a sweater on the dog in the photo above, jewelry, soaps, perfumes, pottery, garden items and antiques plus much much more.
There was lots to see, and plenty to buy and discover among the many booths. We had a couple of beers from Braeloch Brewing, also located in Kennett Square, I tried an Oktoberfest, Marzen style beer, and a Railroad Pale Ale, both were very tasty.
Southern Chester County and The Brandywine Valley have so much to offer to visitors and locals alike, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and vineyards around plus museums and Longwood Gardens, Winterthur well worth a visit for the gardens or to look around the house. Some events like Clover Market are pop up events but terrific fun. In a couple of weeks there is the Kennett Square Half Marathon which sounds very energetic but another great opportunity to visit a delightful small town and enjoy what it has to offer.
