Oh Snow

Oh NO! We received snow before Halloween again.

It's always kind of a crap shoot as to what kind of weather the kids get for Halloweening up North here.

Reflecting back to my childhood and even through the years of my children I'd say it's been pretty 50/50 as to the number of years with and without snow on Halloween. My son Timmothy reflects that he did NOT remember very many with snow.

The snow may not be as much of a bummer for the kids, after all they still get a ton of candy, as it is for parents who want everyone to see how cute the kids costumes are (hard to see under a parka, stocking hat, and mittins.

As a person who rarely sees snow in Sacramento, that is a lovely sight, Bob.

Good morning Bob,

This looks like a dusty and actually very pretty (but don't want to see it this early). Will it start snowing harder and have some depth to it? I'm sure the kids will have a ball trick or treating either way!

Good morning, Brian... I can't even begin to think about snow... I'm still wearing sandals! :)

That definitely looks too cold for my tastes and I would not want to be in your neck of the woods this time of the year.

Luckily, it is very rare, but not unheard of to have snow here as early as October. However, it can be cold, but most of the kids want you to see their costumes so they layer up.

Ahh, snowflakes! We had a bit of snow in the mountains and higher elevations already - but I'm thinking it will melt soon. But we'll see!

Bob, OH MY, snow already!   We were to get flurries on Sunday, but it missed us, and stayed in the mountains.

It really is Myrl Jeffcoat until it starts piling up and you know that "that" snow will be around for 5 months.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX the good news is that it will/did disappear and so will the next few (most likely). It's the one that you know will lay there until April that the snow starts to bother you.

Understood Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 . A few years back we had a huge winter storm in September. It downed a lot of power poles all across the state and damaged a lot of trees. That is the worst I remember because the leaves were still on the trees. That snow laid on the ground until the next spring.

This one already melted Kat Palmiotti and I am glade about that. Fortunately for the farmers we also got some much needed rain that will soak in and help for Spring planting.

Joan Cox my sister in Thornton grew up here so she knows what we are dealing with thus she loves to call and tell us the temperature in the Denver area. She also loves to rub it in that they got a foot of snow BUT it will melt in a couple of days.

Hi Bob "RealMan" Timm.  We woke up to a dusting of snow in town this morning. It is early, but welcome.  We got several inches last Saturday in the Cascades which is extremely welcome. Hope you have a fun Halloween.

Any moisture was very welcome here by the agriculture community Lynnea Miller . This morning I found out it was time to put the window scrapper back in the car.

I've always enjoyed participating in Halloween events  but since my wife does not it has been over 25 years since I have. (boohoo) 😩
