I started my real estate journey back in 2007 by purchasing my first investment property, a triplex, in London Ontario, fully financed by the bank and seller, which needed a lot of renovation work.
I immediately started the work, and within 3 months, it was completely renovated and fully rented, bringing in a great cashflow on a monthly basis.
Since then, i have acquired over a total of $2 million worth of investment property, bought and sold several rehab projects, and it has only been a great journey, with all its challenges along the way. I have learned a lot from great mentors, as well as my own mistakes, which bring me to the second part of this post: Home Based Business!
Since property investing has allowed my wife and I to have some level of control in our daily lives, earlier this year we decided to do something we had never done. It was to start a home based business, using our own home space to create an income.
Something we had only seen and heard of from other individuals who had utilized their own home space to do something similar, some with success, and some, not so much.
After much due diligence and discussion, and based on market demands, we decided to start a Hair Removal business. Since it was my wife's passion to have a business in this field, she took the lead and got all necessary certification to be able to operate this business.
Two of the top deciding factors to get into this field of business was:
1) Massive demands for hair removal
&
2) Big benefit of laser hair removal
I, on the other hand, started the conversion of one of the areas in our home to accommodate this journey, and within one month, the area was setup and ready for business. After some initial investment in equipment etc. the doors were open, marketing had started, and clients started to come.
This takes me to the last part of this post: Freedom!
One of the biggest dream of many people is to have freedom, more specifically financial freedom. In all the business cases that i have examined, i have never found this particular "freedom" to come very easy. However, if your wiling to work hard, stay focused on your goals and end results, surround yourself with positive and like minded people, and be persistent through what most will call failure, or "this will never work" attacks, then you have a much greater chance of achieving the so called freedom.
I am a firm believer, that I am where I am today, solely because of that decision back in 2007 to jump into the world of real estate investing, despite many many people around me telling me that "it was not for me" or "I could not do it" or "it was only a rich man's game". I stayed focus on the end goal, surrounded myself with people who believed in me and wanted to help me and push me to higher levels, and as such, was able to see the results of all that hard work.
Now, i am in a position to help my wife and others create the same path to what they deem "freedom".
"There is no greater pleasure in life, then to help and see other succeed and achieve their dreams and goals".
