Debe Maxwell, CRS is hosting the ActiveRain Challenge the month titled "November 2022 Thanksgiving Gratitude Challenge". This will be an easy challenge for me, because I have MUCH to have gratitude for. For this challenge we get to write one blog per week for this month, and my first blog will be about one of the biggest blessings in my life, the birth of my one and only grandchild, Elizabeth.
This amazing blessing in my life was born Eight years ago on July 13, and brought a special joy into my life that words cannot even begin to describe. She has truly given me a new appreciation for how much I have been blessed with. To say I am grateful for having her in my life would be an understatement, it goes far beyond gratitude. She has added a new meaning of gratitude and purpose to my life. My family has always been a source of gratitude and purpose for me, but something about this gorgeous little girl has heightened the meaning of gratitude and purpose to a level I have not had before.
A major source of what drives me has been my desire to make a better life for my wife and two sons than what I had when I was growing up. That desire fuels me, and drives me in a way which is hard to describe. This driving force has be enhanced by the addition of my beautiful granddaughter Elizabeth. She taken this desire to care for my family to an even higher level. As much as I was driven to provide for my wife and two sons, I want to do even more for this gorgeous little girl.
She was a beautiful baby when she was born, and now eight years later she is growing up into a beautiful young lady. She is not only beautiful, but she is also very smart. She has tested in the 90 percentile in math, and 95 percentile in reading. She has not gotten involved in sports, but loves to dance and cheerleading.
My son and daughter in-law live south of Seattle, WA, so I don't get to be with, and do things with Elizabeth as much as I would like to, but we do FaceTime every Sunday for 1-2 hours. This is something my wife and I look forward to every week, and always have lots to talk about.
My wife in particularly enjoys reading to Elizabeth, and in turn Elizabeth reads us a story as well. She also enjoys playing games with us, and makes sure my wife is always the winner.
I am hoping someday to be blessed with another grandchild, but for now I am thankful and full of gratitude for God blessing me with this very special special little girl at this time in my life.
