Hi Don,

I was scratching my head over that quote. However, you explained it so well. Now, I get it. 

Though we have four seasons in Sedona, they are mild.  When we get snow, it is gone within a few hours.  Snow evaporates!  All of a sudden, it is gone. Believe it or not, we do have to shovel snow and knock it off the branches of our pine and juniper trees otherwise, we will lose branches.

That's a lovely scene, Mark.  We are finally getting rains here in Sacramento, and snow in the Sierra.  It's a welcome sight.

Mark-Winter is an occupation is a great saying. Although I’m not prone to laziness, I prefer to operate and live in warmer environs. But you’re a lot tougher than me.

Good morning, Mark... I can relate to that... and that's one of the reasons we moved to Charlotte in 1998... to retire from that occupation.

I never heard that quote before but it's quite true. Winter takes a lot of work!

Hi Mark- I never experienced a "real winter" until we moved to Northern VA and I  suppose that was not a hard core winter. But yes.. there was always so much to do in getting ready for the winter and during it, like shoveling snow!!!
