Fall Colors in the Greater Sacramento Region

I must admit I've been quite envious of my ActiveRain blogger friends who live in New England, a place legendary for autumn leaf colors strutting their seasonal glory.

George Souto has posted his lovely Fall Progression of Colors. And, Ed Silva has provided delightful Fall Colors postings.

However, during a trip to my local BelAir grocery store in Gold Center Village, I found these beauties in the shopping center parking lot.

Hello Mryl,  All the leaves down in the Denver area and snow twice already.  Headed to the mountains for a week for Thanksgiving and will see how much snow we get.

Hi Myrl... just love those red and orange fall colors. Ours were very short lived this year... took a long time to pop and then disappeared quickly.

Will Hamm - Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week in the mountains!

Hannah Williams - It's been a strange year for leaves in Sacramento.  My oranges are usually bright red about now.  However, they are just beginning to turn orange from green.  The leaves on my Modesto Ash trees are still very green.  In past years, they were yellow by this time in November, and were falling to the ground.

George Souto - It was a real surprise to me too.  I suspect it's due to folks planting more trees that are prone to color in recent years.

Myrl Jeffcoat  don't be envious of George Souto  in a couple months you will see icicles on his mustache.... take my word the East Coast is a nice place in the Fall and late Spring... the rest you can keep this is from someone who lived two thirds of his life on the east coast:)))Endre

Kathy Streib - I think my Nikon would have made the leaves clearer.  But, the convenience of using my phone seems to win out over lugging my more serious cameras.

Endre Barath, Jr. - I suspect you are right about those icicles.  I love to look at snow, but I don't think I'd be too good at shoveling it.😊
