I am pretty sure I taught the first state Social Media CE class back about 2007 or 2008 and for a few years it was a very popular session. Alabama and Oklahoma launched my social media CE classes and shortly after that many more states were hiring me. Back then it was Facebook, today it is dozens of platforms and too many to count. I believe strongly in social media and business as it gives small businesses and one person shows a megaphone to spread the word about their business and services at no cost.
I have the proof, back in 2020 Covid grounded my personal appearances so I quickly got my Real Estate License, yep 20 years of speaking never as a Realtor. My first year I hit the top 10% of agents nationwide, how? Social Media, yes that is how I went from zero to where I am today, but it takes dedication and hard work.
Everyday 7 days a week from 6:30 am until about 9:00 am it is all about blogging and social media. I write anywhere from 200 to 400 words and develop art to back up my story and start sharing, blogs first Active Rain, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and WordPress. Do some format changes and hit LinkedIn, My business Facebook page, sometimes my personal Facebook page, my personal Instagram and my business Instagram. I post videos on YouTube and need to do more videos. I have a full time admin and twice a week she hits over 20 local Facebook groups with about 300,000 members, not saying we get that many views.
So, what is the hottest thing today? Instagram Reels and TikTok, yep I am now a TikToker, not a word I just made it up. Reels are no problem for me but TikTok and produce quantity material has been a challenge but working on it, love I can put music to my post.
To think the very first real estate class I ever taught was on a Palm Pilot.
