CHARLOTTE THANKSGIVING EVE PARADE 2022

Parade

Charlotte's Thanksgiving Parade turns 76 years old this year. This year, the Thanksgiving Parade will again light up the Charlotte skies on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 23rd. Why not come out and help celebrate a Charlotte tradition since 1947!

The Thanksgiving Eve Parade, sponsored by Novant Health, will begin at 5:30 PM on Tryon Street beginning at 9th Street and ending at Good Samaritan Way. The parade will air live at 6:00 PM on WBTV, as well as on Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Day.

The event is free of charge, but if you want to reserve seats, you can order VIP tickets here.

Charlotte’s Thanksgiving Parade is billed as one of the oldest in the nation and the fourth-largest in the country. In 2012 The US News & World Report included the parade on its list of "America’s Best Thanksgiving Day Parades." And visittheusa.com listed Charlotte's Thanksgiving Parade as one of the top seven in the country, as well. You could think of it as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade... Charlotte style! For a complete list of marching bands and performers at the Charlotte Thanksgiving Parade, click here.

SANTA'S WINTER WONDERLAND

You can attend Santa's Winter Wonderland before the parade begins from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM inside the Wells Fargo Atrium, located at 301 S Tryon Street/Two Wells Fargo in Uptown Charlotte. To purchase tickets for Santa's Winter Wonderland, click here. Price of tickets includes seating for the Thanksgiving Parade.

If you've never been to Charlotte's Thanksgiving Parade, why not come out on Thanksgiving Eve and start your own Thanksgiving tradition!

Nina, this looks like it would be a pretty fun time! I bet the Turkeys try to avoid it.

Lise Howe hi Lise... 76 years is a long time for a city of Charlotte's size. And I love the idea of doing it in the evening with all the lights.

Nina it is suppose to be real cold up here in the Northeast.  I know the Thanksgiving Parade in NY is very popular, but I don't think I would want to be standing out there in the cold.  Watching it on my widescreen TV set is much more comfortable.  ☺️☺️☺️

Good morning Nina - I hope that it is a good turnout.  At least it will not be as cold and windy as in New York.

George Souto good morning, George... I totally agree... a summer parade is one thing... standing outside for hours in cold temperatures is not quite my thing.

Grant Schneider that is true, Grant... but once the sun sets it can get cool here in Charlotte. The last week has been colder than normal.

Joan Cox hi Joan... while I always enjoy a good parade, crowds (and there will be plenty of them) are just not my thing! Pre-pandemic the Charlotte parade often attracted up to 100,000 people. That's a lot of crowd!
