Electric vehicles (EV) are becoming more and more popular. in 2022, 1% of the light vehicles driven are EVs in the US. With the sales projections, this number is expected to reach 45% by 2050. Thanks to their ranges getting extended, vacationers can now drive there to their destinations. The main constraint is that a decent size battery needs to be charged for 8-9 hours if a Level 2 charge is used. This creates a demand for condominiums and vacation rental homes to install EV chargers so that the guests can charge during their overnight stay.
We have a condominium resort of 340 units in Destin, FL and been actively searching the EV chargers for last 2 years.
We evaluated companies like OK2Charge, EVConnect, EVPassport, Chargepoint, SemaConnect. I thought the information would be wasted in case I did not share it so I wrote an article about this on our blog
I thought the information would be wasted if not shared so here is the link to our full Destin Condo Rentals EV Chargers article.
All these companies have different offerings. Some use their app, some use only a QR code to start the charging. You can also set the price of charging per kWh or per hour and get 80-96% of the revenue in return.
