Since 1999 we have been coming up to Glen Edna Resorts with friends in Clark, Colorado. We have had 10 to 24 people join us over the years from California to Pennsylvania friends. It normally 7 days and fun with fire burning all the time in the fireplace in most cabins, rotate making dinner each night, playing games after dinner. Did I say we may do some drinking at night also. We have been on horse drawn sleigh rights also with hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps to keep us warm on the right, and watch all the shooting stars on the right.
The last couple of years the restaurant is close down for the holiday and one of our friends is on the board of directors, we are lucky the last two years to have the dining room for thanksgiving dinner. Last year we had others from cabins to join us and we ended up with 32 people and made it a pot luck. We ended up with 5 turkeys, some smoke and others very big, one was a fresh one and 28 pounds. Last year we also had 12 pies, I had a mince meat pie with my dad recipe of whiskey baked in it.
We even had a young gal (14) play the cello last year doing dinner, (hope she is up here this year also. After dinner, we clear the table and do some dancing from 60's to line dancing.
Friends, old and new, what a great tradition!!
