Speechless Sunday: Do you know the difference between these two dishes? I am referring to the two cranberry dishes. One has a slice of Orange in the picture the other is a bit darker.

Just for fun the one without the orange slice is also a cranberry dish a bit darker. If you are not sure let me, give you one more picture both are on the plate below/

Hi Endre Barath, Jr., I'm just going to guess, the one with the orange is obvious, and the other one has berries?

Endre:

Whatever the difference they both look good!

We had both a cooked cranberry sauce and a cranberry relish. They were a hit along with everything else.

Hope you had a wonderful and tasty Holiday!

Jeff

Endre Barath, Jr. - I can't tell the difference but isn't it interesting how cranberry dishes have changed over the years from when I was a kid and cranberry came in cans? I didn't have a Turkey and/or Thanksgiving Dinner but I did buy cranberry sauce from the grocery store. On trash day, I threw out. I couldn't tell what they put in it, but it wasn't good. Yours, on the other hand looks delicious! Knowing that you take great care in preparing fresh and healthy meals, I would have enjoyed either one.

I would love to see the recipes for each dish.  The both look delicious!  Our table almost always features homemade cranberry relish and cranberry jelly.  Of course, I am the fan of the homemade!  This year, our whole dinner was purchased from the store already cooked.  I am hopeful that never happens again!

Oh, you're speaking my language when you talk cranberries, Endre! I love them in any recipe! I also make a darker one (using black cherry jello) and have a fantastic recipe for a sauce to dip seafood, beef or chicken in!

We went to the Ritz-Carlton for our office party a few years ago. The chef would not share his recipe for the sauce and I spent nearly every holiday for 2 years, trying to recreate it! LOL I may post that before Christmas.

I also got a chuckle out of your cat spoon rest - I have the same one! (Imagine that!)

Speaking of cooking? How's the range?

I had an aunt who use to make a wonderful cranberry relish.  She gave me the recipe when I was a teenager.  But, somehow, it never tastes as good as what she made.
