Unlocking the Shackles of Shame

Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services

I don't read books, except ONE, but I will pick up a magazine no matter how disassociated it is with my life, such as agricultural magazines. I'm always amazed at what I learn on topics I thought had nothing to do with me.

Yesterday I picked up a magazine that was sent to my business address for a long gone tenant who is out of business. It was The North Dakota Safety Council Magazine. Truth be told it was a waste of time except the above mention of a speaker coming to their annual conference.

Under the banner above was:

OK, for most of us the print is a bit to small but to summarize Lauren tells the shame of having had drug abusing parents who both died of drug overdoses at the time she was in college. Visiting her website will help everyone understand shame whether it be in our own lives or others. Her site is https://www.laurensisler.com/

Hi Bob... I always think of shame, when it has nothing to do with anything you did yourself that was shameful, a paralyzing emotion. Nice to know that this young woman overcame that feeling of shame... especially since drug addiction is a disease.

Well said Nina Hollander, Broker . I understand why she felt shame, imagine her telling a boyfriend her parents both overdosed. I am glad she got over it and realized she needed to help others with her own story.

A less motivated person than Lauren Sisler could allow the terrible circumstances of her parent's deaths to push them down and beat them up. Congratulations to her for rising to a new level and also helping others.
