This is my fourth and final gratitude post for the Thanksgiving contest hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS . My first post was GRATITUDE FOR OUR GRANDSONS. My second post was GRATITUDE FOR MY COMMUNITIES. And last week I had GRATITUDE FOR HIGH IMPACT WINDOWS. In this final gratitude post I was to share my thanks to all medical providers including those who are first responders.
When we get past a certain age we certainly spend time watching our health and have timely checkups. If you are not doing so now, you certainly should. Chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer should be screened early and often.
I am so grateful that I have, in my opinion, the best doctors. I see them often. In late 2017, I concern came up concerning my prostate. I went to a urologist and he did a biopsy. The biopsy came back as cancer. Ok, so many men have this. He told me my options up to surgery which was the best option. So I said let's do it and now.
That is me after Surgery on the day after Memorial Day in 2018. I am grateful that I took this option because the biopsy revealed that is was an aggressive cancer but it was just at the beginning. It was so successful that for 4 years any indications of PSA activity was absent. Last fall a slight uptick. Lets confirm and treat it which we did.
Cancer is a scary disease that has taken many lives but I remain positive and determined and I thank every one of my wonderful doctors.
In addition to showing gratitude I encourage everyone get tests regularly.
