Sandpoint Idaho Snow Storms Double Edge Sword

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

We have about 10 days of storms coming through North Idaho Panhandle.  Today being the forecasted largest of daily snow fall.

Sandpoint Realty Highway 95 Driving Conditions

The above picture shows Highway 95 as one exits Sandpoint Idaho and heads north towards Bonners Ferry and Canada.  This photo from Monday as I was heading home and only a teaser storm about 1/5 of the projected snow of storms coming in starting today.

With this in mind I asked our agents and staff to please stay home for safety,  and to take care of much needed work around the house with this type of snowfall.

Sandpoint Realty Christmas Tree

Of course there is always a 2nd side to the sword.  Driving to Sandpoint Realty Office this morning I could not help but stop and get a photo of how wonderful the Sandpoint Town Center Christmas Tree looks with just the early accumulation of the storms snow.

Take care and be safe. We have a rainy day in Maryland and I am thankful for no snow.

Mark, I was on that road from Bonners Ferry to Sandpoint, without snow, and was beautiful.    Please keep all that snow up there!

Joan, having traveled the road you can appreciate, more than most, how  this is not a good hwy to travel with these kind of storm conditions.  m

It's pretty to look at but I'm sure dangerous to be driving in. Not looking forward to this weather here this winter. Be safe!

Hi Mark- I don't think I've ever seen that much snow!  It's so peaceful, though, when it's falling. Stay warm and safe.

I think the snowstorms are pretty and a reality for most, but I am reaching the stage of life where I would prefer to see it on the nightly news while relaxing in a warm climate

That tree really is something. Beautiful!

I think Sandpoint may be getting a bit more than we are, north of Priest River, but there's still plenty! My husband spent much of the day plowing our driveways and parking lots.

I'm very grateful that we don't need to go anywhere.

Our pup is finally getting used to the sound of snow falling off the roof. The first time it happened he jumped about 3 feet, then started barking. The second time he was sleeping by my husband's feet and took a giant leap into his lap! It's startling when 50+ pounds of puppy suddenly lands on you!

Driving in that snow looks a little scary, Mark.  But, that photo of the town Christmas tree is delightful.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho - white out weather like that is not for new drivers, people who have trouble with eyesight, and definitely not for a drunken sailor or party goer. That is serous weather you're having. Be safe and thanks for raising awareness. Sometimes people get stuck in weather like that and don't know how to handle the roads.
