Real Estate HORROR STORIES...

When people hear that I buy and sell investment properties, they always ask one thing...

What is the CRAZIEST thing you have ever found in a house?

Other than the goat carcasses, the 7 foot tall peg leg (wow), a diamond ring, turds in the shower (not just one turd my friends, we are talking multiple turds), a long dead hampster, someone's forgotten hair weave, no not much!

So join the post and tell me YOUR craziest find in a property!

how aboout a frantic call from my handyman Pedro  cleaning for first time my investment property, there was a freezer in the basement that I never thought about seeing inside. .

my handy man opened and was ready to call the police. .

His call to me went like this. .

"Fernando, there is a dead body in the freezer in this freaking townhouse" translated from Spanish

"WHAT? Hold it, I will be there in 5 minutes !

My heart pounding, I go to the basement by myself. .my handyman Pedro refused to even come inside the property again. .

Chalk outline of a body.  Not sure why it was there or why.  I was only doing the interior BPO.

A 100 dollar casino chip had me excited, but it turned out to be fake.

Then there was the crazy racoon who refused to let me upstairs and threatened to come after me, that caused me to run from the property screaming.

Lots and lots of pennies.  Nobody picks up pennies????

My favorite was the seller with the large locked closet full of grow lights and a pretty sophisticated home agriculture operation for growing pot.

In a property that had been a group house for years, I entered one incredibly messy bedroom to discover a shoe atop a small bookcase. Clearly visible poking through the top was a stack of hundred dollar bills.

I suggested to the listing agent she mention to the tenant to put valuables away, but three days later, I took another client to see it. There it still was.

I thought of some more... a set of false teeth, a collection of a dozen or so purple dildos brand new in the box (I put on gloves anyway), vintage comic books from when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and lastly there was this one house where the owner lived in her station wagon in the driveway because she had stacked too much inside and you could not walk in the house.

You had to CRAWL up on piles almost to the ceiling.  I would get carpal tunnel syndrome writing all the things she had in that house! We had to dig it out and we actually saw the generations piled beneath.  Dig a little...the 90's.  A little more and you found scrunchies and stirrup pants from the 80's.  A little more and A RAT!  Alive and HUNGRY!  Then dig a little more and there is something from the 60's.  So imagine 40 years of collecting!  ICK
