Remembering Our Heroes on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
Our sailor son and daughter-in-law were stationed in Oahu, Hawaii, both serving in the United States Navy. We flew over to see them, planning a visit to Pearl Harbor while there. Upon entering the memorial, a video began playing, recounting the incident, the solemn respect was evident.
Silent tears rolled down my face as I prayed for every person who perished on that horrific day in America's history.
Another example of despicable, tyrannical actions from Japan, wanting to destroy the US Pacific Fleet by whatever means. Thankfully, it did not work as they soon realized that America does not just roll over and allow these horrific acts to continue without retribution. Payback was in order!
My mother was born on December 6th, so it has always been a reminder for me that Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese the next day. I recommend that anyone who goes there to visit, honor and pray for all those lost lives, especially those that remain beneath the water's surface.
Please give thanks to our military personnel who step up, despite any conditions here and across the world to protect our best interests, keeping us safe from harm. God bless them all, heroes every single one!
