GREAT EATING (AND DRINKING) IN CHARLOTTE
"Let Food Be Thy Medicine, And Let Thy Medicine Be Food."

In recent years, Charlotte has increasingly been recognized as a "foodie" town. In fact, in 2022 Food & Wine named Charlotte one of the the seven most exciting and up and coming big cities for food.
"Nothing brings people together like good food and a good restaurant."

In 2022, the Queen City saw a number of restaurants recognized for their food and drink. These included:
Steak 48, which has been named by Open Table as one of the top and most beloved 100 restaurants in the nation. Located at 4425 Sharon Road in Charlotte's South Park area, Steak 48 opened just two years ago and quickly became a destination for great steaks and seafood in Charlotte. In May 2021 if you wanted a weekend reservation at Steak 48, you'd have to wait until July to get a table.
Supperland, which has been nominated by Bon Appetit as a Top 50 Best New Restaurant. Located in a renovated, mid-century church, Supperland has been described by SecretCharlotte.com as "part swanky steakhouse and part church potluck." Supperland's own website introduces the restaurant as "Southern steakhouse meets church potluck." Supperland is located in Charlotte's Plaza Midwood neighborhood at 1212 The Plaza.
Leah & Louise, which has been named by The New York Times as a Top 50 Restaurant they are "most excited about." Leah & Louis is known for their smoked catfish stew with rice grits, field peas, and candied peppers and their iconic "river chips" (crispy chicken skins) and describes itself as a "modern juke joint." Their menu features a modern interpretation of Southern classics honoring Mississippi River valley foodways (Memphis, Jackson, New Orleans). Greg Collier, chef at Leah & Louise was a 2022 James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef in the Southeast. Leah & Louise is located at Camp North End, 301 Camp Road in Charlotte.
McNinch House (one of my personal favorites), has won awards for many years and is the only 4-Diamond Restaurant in Charlotte. In 2022, McNinch House was named Charlotte's Most Romantic Restaurant by Charlotte Magazine and Charlotte's Highest Rated Restaurant by Open Table. Located in Charlotte's Fourth Ward is an authentic Queen Anne house on the National Historic Register, McNinch House provides a unique ambience. It can serve just 30 guests per evening so advance reservations are needed. McNinch House is located at 511 North Church Street.
And if you're a wine enthusiast, Wine Spectator named 23 Charlotte restaurants to its 2022 list of the World's Best Wine Programs. The list of Charlotte restaurants includes:
Barcelona Wine Bar
BLT Steak
The Capital Grille
Oyster Bar
Steakhouse
