Speechless Sunday - Liam's First Visit with Santa

Okay, so I gave it away with the title but, boy-oh-boy, was today ever special!

My mother-in-law owns a 'condo' in an upscale retirement facility and today was a day that we had seen announced for a few years but, had never participated...until this year! We have a great-grandma in the facility and FINALLY have a grandbaby so, today was so exciting for us. We've actually looked forward to it for weeks!

While Liam didn't originally take too well to Santa, our son walked him around Santa and shared the excitement of other little ones sitting on Santa's lap with Liam until he was finally comfortable. He actually enjoyed himself thoroughly when he ultimately sat on Santa's lap. What a special day...at least for this Mimi!

Debe loved your post, funny reminded me of when I was Liam's age... my father paid "Santa" to come by our house.... the guy worked as someone who shoveled coal for a living and did the Santa gig as a part time job... he came to our home and everyone wanted me to shake hands with him.... I refused he had dirty hands:) so I get Liam's resistance:))Endre

What a wonderful photo, Debe... I can't believe how much Liam has grown; feels like he was born the other day. (Of course, I say that about our grandchildren and the youngest one will be 25 in March!)

Oh, cute story, Endre Barath, Jr. - the 'almost'-germaphobe that I am, I can relate to that too! This nice gentleman was actually a resident of the retirement facility and it was so fun to watch the other residents walking by, waving and talking to 'Santa' - some sitting on his lap!

I know, I cannot BELIEVE how much he's grown, Nina Hollander, Broker! My son brought him to our client event last week and I literally wrenched my back carrying him around for about an hour of the party!! He's over 30# now, and solid as a rock - he's HEAVY!

Me too! I always love seeing our son with him, watching him interact as a father and he was so patient with him, getting him adjusted to being in the room with Santa. I was impressed that he didn't just keep trying to have him sit on Santa's lap - he let him watch others interact with Santa. His patience paid off. Now, hopefully he'll never fear Santa again but, who knows, right?!
