North Idaho Snow Storm - December 12, 2022

The fresh layer of snow witnessed shortly after a storm is certainly magical in North Idaho.  Along with that magic comes quite a bit of work that many are not aware of.

Sandpoint Realty Snow Removal

From the simple Naples Idaho driveway clearing, which might not be so simple when out of town, or doing by hand with a snow blower.  All must get done sooner than later in order not to cause more work by allowing traffic to compact it, whether foot or, of course, vehicle.

Sandpoint Idaho Snow Removal December 2022

Sandpoint Idaho is known as a 'Walking Town' so not only are the streets and roads cleared, as you can see here, much time and effort is spent being sure the walkways are free of snow.  This work all being done while most of us are sound asleep in Sandpoint and the surrounding areas

As a side note do take note of how clear the street is of snow...and this being only 24 hours after a major storm that passed thru the Idaho Panhandle.  Kudos to all the hard working people making it possible to move about.

Good morning Mark,

It takes a village of people to help with the clearing of the snow. I remember living in upstate NY when growing up and we would get sleet first and then snow....was always a major undertaking to get around and get plowed out!

HI Mark... I'm certainly impressed by how quickly your snow is taken care of. Since we rarely get it in Charlotte, nothing much gets done... we just wait a day for it to melt. But we've had times when roads just got icy and stayed that way for days and people here just don't know how to deal with those conditions.

Hello Mark,  Denver will be getting some snow late tonight and on Tuesday but they say 1 to 4 inches.  Now the Mountains, that is 1 to 3 feet they say!

Hello Mark - Yikes!  Each time I see one of these kind of snowfall photos, I can only think of the mess that sometimes occurs when a bit of drizzle hits the windshields of cars on Southern California freeways.  Be safe.  Be patient.

Michael, it was funny while working Lake Tahoe Ski Resort.  You would expect Californian's to know how to drive in snow being reasonably close and driving to a mountain to ski.  lol  I worked parking and they would come up in a literal white out with no chains and 2 wheel drive.  I never could wrap around that.  To be more specific to location does Donner Pass ring any bells. lol.

So yes Michael we have many coming in from out of state who just do not know how to handle driving in the inclement weather.  m

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho the quicker snow is cleaned up the easier it is.  Once it has been driven on or walked on, it turns to ice and very tough to shovel or snow blow.

Mark- Texans are not very familiar with snow or at least, a lot of snow, so when it does snow...we go nuts!  People have no idea how to drive in it!!!

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho - Idaho must be land of courageous men and women with nerves of steel, hard working, and very helpful to each other when it comes to weather conditions. Obviously, people don't sit around and wait for the snow to melt!
