I was driving on a familiar road where I do tend to exhibit Emerson Fitipaldi-like tendencies. In my quest to get to the next light before the car sitting next to me, I forgot that where I was headed was different than where that car was headed. I didn’t realize the error of my ways until I was headed on a very familiar road, but it was not the road I needed on that particular day.
How often do we do that to ourselves? Get triggered into a very human response, racing ahead of someone else, or get lured in by tempting ads, promising to enhance our business, only to discover we’ve headed down a path we did not intend to travel.
Stay focused on your own agenda. Don’t be blinded by the people around you, no matter how fast or shiny they are. Stay on your own road. Set your own goals and find… no… claim your success. Never let someone else's voyage sideswipe your success.
