The Gift of Presence. . .
What I've learned. Everyday life can continue to offer connections that link together things that may, at first, seem dissimilar. It is not some sleight of hand that happens magically that makes them appear alike. However, some of these incidents can be surprising.
Like life, holiday celebrations evolve as families (or any group) change. They may increase in size or become smaller in other respects. It’s truly the circle of life and each of us has a front row seat even when we are participants.
Talk about a live theater moment. It seems spontaneous even when there may be a script-of-sorts. Such examples continue to make life interesting with elements of unexpectedness.
Some rituals remain. Others are reinvented, maybe recycled in a freshly discovered or slightly different package. Ah, yes, those subtle nuances.
Familiar foods are experienced. Sensations of all sorts are introduced too. Traditions are remembered. And people. Past and present are part of the gathering.
Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. Enjoy the presence.
