Hi Myrl... I was just thinking about you this morning when I heard on the news that power had been lost all around the Sacramento area. Happy to hear you are okay... the damage from the trees is just beyond imagining.

Myrl I hope you have seen the last of the bad weather. Being without power is very inconvenient, and also costly if things in freezers start to go bad. Downed trees take time to clear, and can cause traffic detours.

Nina Hollander, Broker - Sacramento has always prided itself on being the City of Trees. I think we need to retrofit our electric grid, and all overhead power lines that still remain, need to be taken under ground. Trees and power lines are not a marriage made in heaven.
George Souto - We still have more storms slated to arrive. We are having some clearing this afternoon, with another storm arriving tonight. Yesterday, when power was restored to my house, I found that my heating system would blow air, but wouldn't heat. The pilot light was on. I called for service, but before I could get a return call, I unplugged and then replugged the unit. All it needed was a reboot!

Hello Myrl - we had a respite from rain yesterday. However, it seems short-lived as it is pouring today. I am happy to hear your interruption was filled with a fiesta.

Hi Myrl- I'm glad all is well. We had a bad storm here on Saturday night as well as a tornado warning. Scary but it's always a relief to know that everyone is ok.

I hope that only gentile rains be in your forecast for a while Myrl Jeffcoat . The pi9c you added of a tree across a house is what I worry will happen with the large trees between my home and the neighbors. We enjoy the shade but 4 BIG trees only 20' from my home has me worried at times. Love the restaurant!

The West Coast really seems to be getting the worst of this atmospheric river. We just headed into another burst of rain and we are about to get a king tide also Myrl 🙂

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - I didn't even realize that you were caught up in the pineapple express as we used to call it in SoCal. I am so glad you are ok. It is never good to go 14 hours without power. We have seen the news with all the weather. YIKES!
On a positive note, how wonderful to enjoy two people celebrating such milestone birthdays! The pic of you and your daughter and granddaughter is very precious. You have a beautiful family.

Hi Myrl:
I'm glad to hear things are relatively well given the multiple storms in Sacramento, and you are safe. There certainly has been plenty of damage around CA from the winds and rain with downed trees and wires, flooding, mudslides, and sadly some deaths.
What a wonderful celebration that must have been - the photos are terrific.

Myrl Jeffcoat - Bomb cyclones??? Today is the 21st day of November, 2023, and this is the first I heard of this and the terrible weather you had. I pray good weather is back. There must be a lot of clean up going on in Sacramento.
Myrl, you have a beautiful family! Loved your family photos and celebration for Pat & Lupe! The restaurant looks homey and I'm sure the food is authentic, homemade, and delicious. I'm glad you all got to go there to celebrate Pat's 80th birthday! Isn't that wonderful!
Cheers to all and may there be many. many reasons to celebrate with loved ones.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat! I just love reading your posts - they are always so filled with interesting personal and local news A -N- D excellent pictures. Weather throughout our nation has been weird and news coming out from California, scary. But our Florida, with yearly seasonal hurricanes, is also scary. Myrl, here in Central Florida we also have HUGE TUCKER OAK TREES. And...they also fall on houses during the
hurricanes.
A few years ago when a hurricane was passing over our community - 3:30 AM - our neighbors were lying in bed and a huge oak crashed through their 2nd floor bedroom and landed on the floor next to their bed.
Myrl, have a great week! And thanks so much for 'FEATURING' me....
