Blown Glass Heart Treasure Hunt in Carlsbad
The 3rd Annual Hearts of Carlsbad Village blown glass treasure hunt in Carlsbad Village is in February. What a great opportunity to spend time in Carlsbad Village outdoors exploring!
The Carlsbad Village Association and Barrio Glassworks are sponsoring this fun event on February 11th and 12th. The treasure hunt opens at 10 am on Saturday and ends at 4 pm on Sunday.
February is American Heart Month, and Valentine’s Day is 2 days after the event. What’s could be more appropriate than a heart-themed treasure hunt?
Here’s how the treasure hunt works. 200 colorful hand-blown glass hearts created at Barrio Glassworks will be “hidden” in popular locations in the Village over the 2-day period. Last year there were 50 hearts in the hunt.
Each engraved glass heart is numbered and dated, and a collectible – and it’s finders keepers! But please only 1 heart per person.
Hearts will be visible in iconic historic places, near downtown murals, at places one might sit and relax, near local hotels and similar settings. You won’t find them near or on the railroad tracks or rail trails, or at Barrio Glassworks or on the beach.
After you discover one be sure to register your find on the special website hosted by CVA to be entered into a prize drawing. The prize drawing is a free glass blowing experience at Barrio Glassworks. A label attached to each heart will have the registration details.
Many thanks to the Carlsbad Village Association and to Barrio Glassworks for hosting this creative treasure hunt event in Carlsbad Village during this special month.

Don’t forget the Heart of the Village Blood Drive being hosted at the Barrio Glassworks on Saturday February 11 from 10 until 3. Be sure to register in advance for your donation appointment.
