What Is Your Opinion On Short-Form Videos?

YouTube created Shorts in response to the growing popularity of TikTok and Instagram Reels. Both of these platforms have seen a surge in users in recent years, thanks to their short-form video format, which allows users to quickly and easily create and share videos that are 15 seconds or shorter.

YouTube Shorts For Real Estate

YouTube, which has traditionally focused on longer-form content, saw the potential in this format and decided to create its own short-form video feature called Shorts. The idea behind Shorts is to give YouTube users a new way to create and share videos while also giving creators a new way to reach and engage with their audience.

As for what is likely to happen to TikTok and Instagram now that Shorts are up and running on YouTube, these platforms may see a decline in users and engagement. This is because YouTube is a much larger and more established platform, with a much larger user base and more resources to promote and support its new feature. Additionally, YouTube has a strong reputation for being a platform for creators, which may make it more appealing to users looking to create and share short-form videos.

However, it's also possible that TikTok and Instagram will continue to thrive, as they have built a solid and dedicated user base and have established themselves as go-to platforms for short-form videos. Additionally, TikTok and Instagram have a more casual, fun-loving vibe, which may continue to appeal to users, especially younger users.

In conclusion, YouTube's launch of Shorts was a strategic move to tap into the growing popularity of short-form videos. It will likely have a significant impact on TikTok and Instagram. But it's also possible that these platforms will continue to thrive as they have built a strong user base and unique identity, differentiating them from YouTube. Time will tell how the competition between these platforms will play out.

I like short form videos and started doing YouTube Shorts in 2021.  I also repurpose my videos for Reels and TikTok sometimes.  I try to get the most out of each social media form.  I have taken a break from it all and need to get back to work.

I haven't really paid attention to the YouTube shorts.  I do know one thing.  I love to cook, and there is one YouTube cooking channel (that's not comprised of shorts).  I'd enjoy it a whole lot more if they didn't plop a long commercial in the middle of their cooking demonstrations.  I understand why they do it, but it's really annoying!

Makes sense.  It seems like our attention spans are dwindling by the second, and the appetite is there for shorter clips

You can trust me for all your real estate needs!

I recently purchased a green screen for this very purpose...now if it would find a way to open itself up and make videos for me that would be great

I love the Youtube shorts platform and it definitely has a use for growing a video audience.  It is another tool in the toolbox and over the course of 2022 I have been working to build my long-form Youtube channel.  The format for shorts is the same as for Tiktok and Insta, so creating content for Youtube shorts translates to those platforms as well and expands reach, which is great.  I look forward to getting to know the platform even better in 2023.

Hi Joe,

My husband and I have a YouTube channel but Rick is the one who publishes the videos.  I had to look it up.  We generally don't do vertical videos, but we keep the videos at 1 minute, or less so they can be added to Instagram. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  You always do a great job with your videos.

Each 9x 13 vertical platform still has its own unique layout so it's important to properly place graphics, emojis, etc in spots where they won't be obfuscated. Our video production agency is now bundling in packages of video shorts, especially with podcast clients, so they have additional promotional content to drive traffic.

People have short attention spans so short videos seem to be smart to use.

I need to find out more about shorts ... I'm short and although I can talk plenty on one to one -- I freeze on a video.  15 Seconds sounds like a place to start.  Any helpful suggestions for this novice?
