We’re Looking for Our Next Junior Mayor in Gaithersburg

Fourth graders in Gaithersburg are encouraged to write essays telling us what they would do if they were mayor. The theme, to be explored in 275 words or less, is “Preserving the Past to Power the Future.” Students are asked to think about the traditions, beliefs, and events they believe have helped make Gaithersburg what it is today and which they would keep and honor and which they would try to change. Finalists will be invited to a panel interview, with the winner being selected as Gaithersburg’s next Junior Mayor. Click here for entry details. The submission deadline is March 1.

This is a City of Gaithersburg, Maryland announcement.

Good morning Toy,

This is a wonderful opportunity for fourth graders to invest their time and writing skills! I'm like Nina Hollander, Broker ..I would love to be a judge...sometimes children (especially that age) can offer such insight in such a humorous way!
