Salt Lake City, Utah - I have had few individuals ask me "so, what does a tax attorney do? What services to you offer that my CPA does not?" When I have this type of question I usually respond with "tax problems are legal problems and we solve both." I then tell them what I don't do:
- Book Keeping
- Tax Return Preparation - both Federal and State
- Payroll Taxes - I do not submit 940s, 941s, etc.
- Forensic Accounting
So, what services does a tax attorney offer? Here are a few:
- Offers-in-Compromise
- Installment Agreements
- Tax Transcript Analysis
- Tax Lien Resolution
- Tax Levy Resolution
- Penalty Abatement
- Challenging Assessed Taxes
- IRS Exams
- Appeals
- Tax Court Representation
- Payroll Tax Resolution
- Sales Tax Resolution
- State Tax Resolution
- Criminal Tax Investigations and Prosecutions
In buying these services, what is the client receiving?
- The end of sleepless nights
- Stopping the family stress
- The cleaning up of tax liens preventing the client from purchasing that St. George condo
- Resolving back tax debt for less than what the IRS or State Tax Commission says you owe
In my next post, I will tell you a story of what this means. Remember, tax problems are legal problems and we solve both. You can contact Kent by email at: kbrown@strongandhanni.com or go to his webpage at: https://strongandhanni.com/attorneys/attorney-kent-brown/
