This Week…Reminders


This week has been a difficult as well as a busy week.   We had tornado warnings in our area…phones and whistles were going off on our phones. Thankfully they missed our area, but sadly many homes were destroyed south of Houston. 

 

 

Friendships begun in this world will be
taken up again, never to

Our good friend in FL ended up having triple bypass surgery after feeling chest pains (he’s doing well). 

 

 

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust

 

And then we learned that our friend, Grant Schneider had passed away. 

 

Life runs at a fast pace and it is too easy to forget that those we call our friends…the people who we laugh with…who we count on…who we like….will not be around forever. 

 

 

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.

I have been reminded this week to pick up the phone more often than I do…to make it a point to have lunch or dinner more often with our friends…to let those people know how much they mean to me.

I had so hoped to meet Grant Schneider but I guess I will meet him in Heaven.  There have been quite a few people passing away recently that I will miss greatly.

Life is precious and things happen that we are not prepared for. I was so sad to hear of Grant's passing, I had no idea he was so ill. You are right picking up the phone and staying in touch with those that mean a great deal to you is important.

Yes Kathy Streib - I agree. Go into any restaurant and look at any table and see how many people are actually looking at each other and talking opposed to how many are looking at their phone.

Kathy it has been that kind of week ending with the news about Grants passing. 2 other friends passed this past year.  It is so important to pick up the phone, meet a friend for lunch, have them over for dinner etc etc.  We have been doing so much more of this this past year. And plan to continue doing so from now on.  Life is to be enjoyed and shared.

I recently spoke to a very close friend.  He has been battling cancer for a year and will always be on some form of treatment going forward.  I did not even know.  I do have to pick up the phone more often.  I continue to believe that the world will continue on without change.  It does not. 😟

Hi Kathy, 

Our life is fragile... It is always an excellent reminder to stay in touch.  Pick up that phone. Reach out and call someone!  

If there is one thing I do, I stay in touch with friends, clients, and family.  If they live in Sedona, I want to meet them for lunch or dinner.  If not, I will make more than one call on the weekend.  One of our neighbors just lost her 99-year-old husband right before Christmas.  We usually have this couple over for Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner.  Unfortunately, this did not happen because of his declining health.

Kathy we cannot control many things in our life, all can do is use the time we have wisely.  The passing of Grant was a shock.  He seem full of life.
