Leo Buscaglia was a great teacher. He also wrote some fantastic books. Look them up if you haven't read any. One thing that Leo once said was, "Every lover worth a name is full of scars".
Unfortunately, we have forgotten that. We seek absolute perfection. We forget those scars can bring interesting aspects to that person that makes them memorable.
I remember one woman I dated about 15 years ago. In the beginning, there were things about her that (just because I am being honest here) annoyed me. The funny thing is, the more I came to love her, the more that what I used to find annoying had now become something that was endearing. Even something that made me smile so much, I would look forward to it.
There is no perfect spouse, no perfect friend, no perfect candidate, etc... But perhaps perfection is found when we accept those scars and even learn to see their beauty.
