Good morning Patricia. Must say people have a natural tendency to panic before they understand the severity. Better safe than sorry has no application in some instances. But the is the way it is! Enjoy your day.

Hi Patricia... sounds like Charlotte when it snows...which is rare. And fortunately, no signs of snow this week! Stay safe.

Nina Hollander, Broker - I'm beginning to think Charlotte is a lot like Flower Mound! These rare winter storms gives the weather people a lot to talk about! I wish you a wonderful day!

Thanks for the weather report in Texas Patricia. I have never seen it this bad before! That localized snow fall on one side of the street in the photo was major. I hope the snow plow can get through!  Jeff 😀

Jeff Masich-Scottsdale AZ Associate Broker,MBA,GRI - it is so bad people are sheltered indoors! Luckily for me, I still have my shovels from Chicago! But on my side of the street, there isn't enough snow! Perhaps the plows will be out after the Garbage Trucks are done picking up the trash. 🤣

OMG you made me laugh out loud Patricia!  I heard something about Texas weather this morning and wondered if it was bad or really bad.  Now I know from you - it was REALLY BAD ⛄❄️💙

Anna Banana Kruchten Phoenix Broker - not much changed. The time now is 5:31 PM. It is a little darker. There is still no life outside my door! I went to pick up the mail that is usually delivered between 8:30 - 9:30 AM. That old say, the post office always delivers is a lie. There was no mail. Trash was not picked up. I did not see or hear a single Amazon Truck or any other vehicles down my street. The two black cars did not move. There is no snow in any of the branches. Our Severe Winter Alert is still in effect. Yes! It is really, really, really, really bad!

LOL

What's weird is I heard how 'bad' it was once again on the radio just now while driving home.  Looks really BAD to me!  Not!   Enjoy your quiet storm day!

Good morning Patricia,

OMG..loved your post this morning! We have no snow on the ground and it is sleeting but you'd think we were in a blizzard! I'm from Upstate NY and always laugh when we have colder temperatures, sleet or maybe a dusting of snow. Schools are closed, no one is out, offices and restaurants closed....its surreal! I was able to to take a continuing education class this morning on Zoom so at least I got a credit. I can now make the AR Zoom meeting as I wasn't going to be able to attend before due to an in person meeting!

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - If there is sleet here in Flower Mound, I did not skid driving this morning. I did not fall down when I walked from my car into the Post Office to deliver my letter. There is no sleet on anyone driveway. Reference the latest photo in Anna's comment. As you can tell, nothing has changed. The trash was not picked. The Post Office Always Delivers Is A Lie. There has been no announcements that kids can go back to school today. I did notice yesterday early afternoon lines of cars were bumper to bumper picking up kids. I guess they got out early yesterday to prepare for the severe winter storm.

haha this post is too funny -- not a cat meanders or meows! I can relate - the DC area tends to overreact to a little snow as well

Lise Howe - It's a scam! City employees wanted the day off! There wasn't even enough snow to make snow angles! It has turned into a very quiet night in Flower Mound and the Post Office did not deliver the mail!

Roy Kelley - Today would have been like an early spring or summer day in Maryland! I'm glad you got some smiles. Nothing new to report. Post Office did not deliver the mail. Trash was not picked up. Kids did not play outdoors. No one tried to make snow angels.

Keep smiling! LOL

Mail was not delivered. Those two black cars on the street never moved. I'll bet you would be glad to trade one of your Severe Winter Warning Days with today's in Flower Mound! LOL

Not even enough for Snow Angels??? Now that is bad!!  This is hilarious in many ways!

Good thing you didn't get a couple of inches of snow, Flower Mound would be closed for days!

Stay Warm!

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

Debra Leisek - How could anyone call it a snow day when there isn't enough snow to make Snow Angels? Oh yes, that's bad - B-A-D!

Believe it or not, everything is STILL closed. It is now morning. There has been no trash pick up. No school. They published a few stores that would be open. Here's what I received from my Dentist:

Good Morning Patricia,

Due to the inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, Erickson Dental will be closed today and tomorrow. We will touch base with you regarding our plans to return on Thursday.

We had more snow than that today and they just called it Tuesday!!

Brian England - you could never survive if there was a cold spell, snow, or a severe winter storm. I wonder if Tesla could???

Feb 01, 2023 06:03 AM

It seems like Teslas do just fine in cold weather Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP since I follow some Tesla owners in very cold weather states and countries.

That just proves to me that living in a cold place is not the place to live, at least not for me Debra Leisek, haha.

Not sure I agree that Telsa or any EV does well in really cold weather

Brian England    We plug our vehicles in at Zero or below but no one with a tesla is running at zero or below for very far if at all

Too funny! I laughed as I read this....

I remember in November we had a snow storm and lots of power was knocked out in the area and they closed school for the day. We were shocked! They never close school here - parents have to drive their kids to school with 6+ inches of snow on the ground. It's too funny that the dusting in your photo closed schools. But actually understandable since you don't have equipment to clean snow!

Thanks for the morning chuckle.

Feb 01, 2023 04:44 AM

Oh my gosh, that's hysterical Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP - although not funny if you need dental work!

Feb 01, 2023 06:17 AM
Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

Kat Palmiotti - Parents started picking up kids from school as early as Monday before noon in preparation for the severe winter weather coming to Flower Mound. At that time, there wasn't 6 inches of snow. Not a single snowflake fell from the sky! Kids were not allowed to walk home. They had to WAIT for parents or guardians to pick them up! Big difference between MT and FM!

It is now Wednesday. Still no snow. The same two black cars with dusting of snow on their windshields haven't moved. All governement buildings remain closed. No mail. Here's what my dentist sent out:

Good Morning Patricia,

Due to the inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, Erickson Dental will be closed today and tomorrow. We will touch base with you regarding our plans to return on Thursday.

Ha Ha...we call that a dusting...which most of us in central Nebraska means to slow down to speed limits in town and only 5 to 10 over on the country highways.

Patricia, I love this post and you had me laughing. I wonder if there is enough snow there to even make a decent snowball!

This reminded me of when I was a child and my parents decided to go to Florida one winter. We could not find a restaurant open in Virginia to have lunch, finally found a little diner that was open and the waitress said everything was shut down due to the snowstorm!

When you live in the snow belt, 1-2" of snow is NOT a snowstorm so we were speechless. She added that the only reason they were open was because she and her husband owned the diner and lived in an apartment above it!

Feb 03, 2023 10:27 PM
Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

Diana Zaccaro Broker Associate - Pretty funny, huh? I thought so too! There was no chance to make a golf ball size snowball either!

Your story about your family going to FL one winter and stopping in a restaurant to have lunch in Virginia was just as ridiculous! As a child, you must have been very confused by that waitress' remarks. That must have been a very small town you stopped in. I guess you'll never forget it either!

Oh, and by the way, I received notification this evening that the Trash Company will be coming next week Tuesdy to pick up the trash!
