Why does a 55+ need a school system? Simple it’s estimated over 20,000 people work in The Villages, Florida in all types of services, trades, legal and medical. So, let’s do the math, according to the U.S. Census Bureau the average family in The U.S. is 3.13 times 20,000 equals 62,600 people with almost 19% of those being under 15-year-old. The developer saw the need for an “A” rated school for those working for the The Villages and also to attract the workforce needed to support the community.
The Villages Charter School boasts a 99% graduation rate with 93% going on to higher education. Current enrollment is 3,400 students from K thru 12 and currently building a new high school and changing the current high school and expect enrollment to reach 6,500 in the fall of 2023.
The lifestyle of The Villages does attract many seniors to the area but now The Villages Charter Schools are beginning to attract families that want to see their children attend the school. Recently I have had two families contact me about relocating to The Villages area and finding employment within The Villages so their children could attend the school.
One of the graduating members of the class of “22” has decided on a different path, Whittney Morgan Clarke as decided to make real estate her career and recently passed her Florida State Real Estate Exam and is joining The Betts Team. I am excited to have her be a part of our growing team!
