I Have Seen This Game Before. . .
I know Super Bowl LVIIM3GAN is not being played until later this month. Even though I am not a loyal football fan, I do understand the importance of the upcoming sports spectacle. All kidding aside.
And by spectacle, I am not throwing shade towards this special
event. Anyone who has seen my tossing or catching skills would be surprised by such a suspicious move. It’s not my style - merely an attempt at abundant alliteration. Kinda like pondering about Punxsutawney Phil and his shadow.
Perspective certainly plays a role in sports as well as in life. I quickly discovered the following quote but dismissed it in hopes of finding an alternative. It's somewhat self-snarky. Maybe it's a better fit than I first imagined:
If you win a Super Bowl before you’re fired,
you’re a genius, and everyone listens to you.
But a coach is just a guy whose best class in grammar school was recess
and whose best class in high school was P.E.
I never thought I was anything
but a guy whose best class was P.E.
attributed to: John Madden
I believe there is something extra special about turning the ordinary into extraordinary. And that's not snarky at all. In fact, it's kinda super.
The photo included here is from a 2015 post. Remember that year? Deflate-Gate and such. And the game continues. . .
