It is easy to fall in love with Granbury, Texas! This iconic and historic little town sits proudly along the Brazos River. Let's take a stroll through this tiny city as we learn about its rich history, gorgeous architecture, and some of our favorite places.
We will begin with our gorgeous courthouse. Right in the middle of our Square sits this commanding structure that you cannot miss. During the week, step into one of the main doorways and you will instantly feel as if you have stepped back into time. Make sure you head upstairs to take in the beautiful courtroom.
The Square is surrounded by beautifully, restored buildings featuring wine-tasting rooms, restaurants, boutiques, live music venues, and the Opera House. We even have a newly renovated boutique hotel with seven, gorgeous rooms overlooking the Square.
Also, Granbury sits right on the Brazos River that has been dammed up creating Lake Granbury. Lake life abounds with boating, fishing, water sports, kayaking, and more. The topography of the area features soaring bluffs providing beautiful views of the lake. Find an Airbnb to rent to fully enjoy being on the lake.
Throughout the year, Granbury features some of the best events and parades. You won't want to miss the traditional 4th of July weekend or the "take you back in time" events of Christmas. These events are very well attended and you will not want to miss them.
And, did you know that the hit spin-off show from Yellowstone, 1883 did some of the filming right in our downtown Square? We had a blast spotting some of the main characters and watching them transform our city into a Hollywood scene. And, get ready as they are already choosing more locations for upcoming episodes!
As you can see, these are just a few reasons why we love Granbury. We know that you will too when you come and visit. Located just 35 minutes outside of Fort Worth, we are easy to find. Come and stay awhile. You just might want to stay forever!
