Happy Friday the 3rd Day of February 2023

Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

🤩Happy Friday! Things have resumed back to normal or at least better in Flower Mound, TX than it started on Monday! I finally got mail delivered today. I did not receive any cards, letters from friends or family, or money either. The two advertiser magazines that were delivered are headed for the dump (whenever the Garbage Services resume). Whew! Texans are glad the severe winter weather is over! Not a single snow flake was added to the deep snow since the last time I posted about the terrible weather we had that caused everything to shut down. My snow shovels are down from the attic but have not been used since I left Illinois in March 1997.

Did you know that today, February 3 is NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY? Go red for Women is the American Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. I spoke to my sister last night. A few months ago she suffered a Heart Attack. She is the first female in our family to have a heart attack. My niece is doing a great job taking care of her and gave her the best medicine of all - A PUPPY! My sister is doing much better and very happy with her sidekick who never leaves her side except when my niece and her husband come home from work. Then he barks and makes a big production to let my sister know someone came through the door!

Do you remember Stephen Hawkins? He said something very profound and meaningful: "One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn't exist.... Without imperfection, neither you nor I would exist." Therefore, on that note, I am wishing you all a very IMPERFECT weekend!

I am happy to hear that you have not had to use your snow shovel.  I hope that streak continues.

I am even more happy to hear your sister is doing well.  I hope she continues to get stronger and stronger.

Have a great weekend!

Ray Henson - Thank you for your good wishes for my sister. That means a lot to me. She had several close calls and lots of airlift trips to the hospital. She had her weekly doctor visit today. I'll check on her later.

I will keep my shovels for good luck to ward off any catastrophic winter weather.

May your weekend be filled with laughter, love, and lasting happiness!

Good afternoon Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP ,

It was quite the ice storm! Some still don't have their power back. I'm so glad I have a gas water heater so could still take warm showers, a gas fireplace so I could stay warm and a gas BBQ built in on my deck so I could cook!

So glad your sister is doing better after her heart attack..that is no fun!

Good to hear that all is almost back to normal and that you didn't scrape the rust off your shovels. I don't need Hawkings to give me a definition of perfect, I have a wife that lets me know on a regular basis that I am far from perfect.

Ed Silva - I'll be glad when the trash cans get emptied and off the streets! They are so unsightly! As the sun shines, it's a much happier day in Flower Mound!

"Scrape the rust off your shovels." Thanks for the laughter! You have a great sense of humor, especially with regards to your comment on perfection! I am far from perfect! I was glad to share because it goes straight to my heart and makes me feel it is okay to forgive myself for not being perfect.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP  wacky weather we are having. I must have missed the post about your sister I am so sorry to hear. My weekend started out crazy with a plumbing backup I will not go into the disgusting details just so happy it is finally fixed. My maintenance men here are the best. Today it freezing cold but by Sunday it will be in the mid-to-high 50's for the rest of the week. Stay warm and healthy my dear friend .

Hannah Williams - I didn't post anything about my sister until now. It was touch and go and lots to worry about. Your empathy means a lot. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about the "wacky weather," you're having. Apparently it hit our Nation hard in just about every state. I am very sorry to learn you had a plumbing backup but thankful for you that it got fixed. That has to be one of the worst nightmares for a homeowner. Sorry you had to go through that. Thank God for the Trades people who are Plumbers, Electricians, etc. I was especially grateful for Flower Mound Firefighters this past December before Christmas. They are my heroes who helped me a great deal.

I lived through Chicago weather and never got used to freezing cold. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Glad things are getting back to normal in your town. I did wear red Friday for the women's heart movement to cure heart disease and for the veterans I always wear red on Friday!

Also, good to hear your sister is doing okay. It is quite a process sounds like she is in good hands and being taken care of too! My sister also had a stroke almost 2 years ago, so I know what you mean about the long path back to health. It takes time and hard work I have been very proud of my sister for her hard work to recover.

You covered a lot of things in this post Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

Hope the trash cans get emptied!!!😃

As your quote of Stephen Hawkins said: nothing in the universe is perfect.  I come from Chicago also and you found strange breakout weather in Texas - an Ice Storm and all the trappings and every year, I pray over the boogey man coming from the south - the Hurricane.  Nice to hear things are beginning to get back to normal for you in your Texas.
