This Week…Finally Some Sun
It is Friday as I write this and finally the sun has graced us with her (his?) presence! We have had typical Houston February weather as I remember it…cold, drizzly/rainy, windy, and overcast.
Think of the day alive with sunshine,
not the dismal days of rain.

I can’t complain because my friend to the north and west, Dorie Dillard Austin TX, had freezing rain! I won’t even begin to talk about the cold and snow in the rest of the country.
When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.

My friend’s 104-year young mother has had to stay in her room at her nursing facility because of an outbreak of something there. With nothing but grey dreary skies to look at from her patio, her mother seems to have lost some of her energy and spunk.
Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

Hopefully, after a day out in the sun, her spirits will pick up.
Today was the first day in almost a week when it was warm enough for us to walk our full walk. The other days we tried but the rain, wind, and cold stopped us after 20 minutes.
A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition.

We have always made it a point to begin each day with a walk, even when it’s cold out. However, having the sun as our walking partner makes it so much nicer.
