Below is my post for February 4, 2011:
It is Saturday morning and all is well in Southwest Florida. While the rest of the country is experiencing cold weather and large amounts of snow, some both, Florida is enjoyng a stint of the best weather in the last few months. This time of year is considered our "snowbird season." It is a time when our neighbors from the north come and spend the winter with us. This year we are off to a slow start since the weather to the north of us is hampering the travel plans of many "snowbirds." We are settled into the new year and life is moving along. Time for a reflective affirmation of the day: "Commit to focus only on those things you can truly influence for just 90 days." Enjoy the day!
What has changed? Well for one, I am now a northern neighbor to Florida living in downtown Chicago experiencing the cold weather and luckily not large amounts of snow. And yes, I do have plans for a Florida trip in March. I am now a "snowbird". Oh, the times have changed. The things you do for family!
As for the affirmation, it still has merit. Enjoy your day.
