Don't Pack What You Don't Want To Throw Away

Hi Margaret this is oh so true.  Many times I've suggested to clients not pack what they don't want, need or love.  And how many actually do that?  I've had calls from clients  'after the fact' saying - oh I wish I would have followed your advice better! I  then give them a name of where they can donate the items!

Margaret great advice, but somethings even if no longer need tend to be hard to part with.  😋

That's excellent advice, Margaret.  I remember my mom often said, "A move is like a good fire!"

My Mom is not one that would adhere to this, haha, she needs to keep everything.

Yes, taking the time to pack up and move stuff you'll never need or want is a waste of time and energy! Make the decisions before moving if you can...

This is good advice to share. We have moved too much unneeded stuff three times.

Good morning, Margaret... I've moved so many times, I learned this the hard way a long time ago. After our last move almost 17 years ago I ended up with just one relatively small box that has remained unpacked (for very specific reasons). But I deal with clients all the time who have boxes and boxes of stuff in their home or in a storage unit that have not been unpacked for years.

While we honestly just moved ourselves, this rings so very true.  Especially because we were storing it during the transition, which was a total waste of money.  Thanks for sharing and have a fabulous day!

Margaret- I've done both. When we moved back to FL from Northern VA, I thought I'd sold, donated, and ditched a lot of my things...until I unpacked and wondered why I'd moved it. And when we moved from FL to Houston, I realized that I'd sold, donated, and ditched things I wish I'd kept. Go Figure.

I voice this same motto to all my clients moving because with moving expenses so high best to go things before moving them "If you don't love it, don't pack it. Repurpose it before you move!
