Weekend Tidbits

As the sun was rising this morning it was a beautiful sight because it looked so huge and red. The sun rise was the beginning of a new day as well as a change in routine.

Friday evening we discovered our (full) refrigerator gave up the ghost. That triggered a hurried search for a new one Saturday morning. Lucky for us all the frozen foods fit in out freezer downstairs. Also lucky for us the temp outside has been steady between 25 and 40 above so having put all our refrigeratable items in coolers and they are fine.

The mad dash to find a new fridge ended on our 4th stop at a dealer/chain named Karl's. I'll post more about that later. Next stop:

Compliments via a bonus from the radio station I work with, KHRT Christian Radio.

The routine change I spoke of earlier is that we decided the church we recently started to attend was not the church we want to stay at for now. Great people but not the right fit for us.

Next was our Sunday drive. Something we do regularly when Tina is home. The weather has been great for the past week... even the Palm Trees are looking great in Minot.

Hello Bob - seeing palm trees in a sea of snow is not a typical sight for me.

It is an unusual site Michael Jacobs , I think they are metal sculptures. Besides these two I've seen a couple more in front of a beauty salon... I wonder if there is a connection?

HI Bob- that palm tree is an odd sight to see!!!   At least your fridge bit the dust in winter rather than when it was 100 degrees out.

It’s always fun when you can take a weekend my new shirt and turn it into a big story or a very interesting story at least. Hats off to you

That palm tree certainly looks out of place in the snow, haha.  Family time is the best time and I am glad that you have your whole family together right now.

I love the palm tree! I bet it gets a lot of conversation.

And I'm glad you found a new refrigerator and didn't lose any food!

Good morning Bob. With Tina home and you walking on air, bet you handled the refrigerator issue as another chore for the day. How long does it take your feet to hit the ground when Tina leaves? Enjoy the new refrigerator, lucky you found one, and your time with Tina.

Been there, done that with a fridge conking out, Tim. No fun to say the least. Love the look of the palm trees against the snow... not something you see every day.

It would have been much more problematic had it been 100 degrees out but everything fit into our coolers (thank goodness we are campers) Kathy Streib .

Thank you Laura Cerrano , it was a fun weekend despite the refrigerator conking out. We played a lot of card and board games, plus with the warmer weather I was able to walk the dog several times.

It is a blessing to have the whole family together although it is only for two weeks Brian England . On the 14th Tina is headed for more AF Guard training for 5 weeks.

The refrigerator incident was unfortunate and the only food lost was food that was discovered that should have been thrown out prior to the failure Kat Palmiotti . BTW When ever I see those palm trees I want to go see some real ones and shed a layer or two of clothes.

It is a joy to have Tina home Wayne Martin and it makes me realize how fortunate I am to have Timmothy with us every day. I've decided I'm going to do a post on the hunt for a fridge but you are right, it was a breeze.

Bob "RealMan" Timm sorry about that... I've been negotiating a contract and an inspection report all morning and doing this in between phone calls. Must have lost my mind.

It sounds like you had an exceptionally busy weekend, Bob.  Several years ago my fridge went out.  It was in the middle of a hot summer spell here in Sacramento.  I remember the mad scramble to save food.

It was a mad scrabble Myrl Jeffcoat to find adequate storage. Lucky for us we have so many coolers.
