One of the many advantages of Living in The Villages, Florida is the Recreation Centers. Currently numbering 48 with more under construction these are the hubs for most neighborhoods. Many offer Billiards, Ping Pong and rooms for card games and meeting rooms for the many social clubs here in The Villages. That is just inside the centers, outside you will find swimming pools, 93 of them in The Villages, Pickleball and Tennis Courts, Volleyball Courts, Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard, Horseshoe Pits, Walking and Exercise Trails and Dog Parks close by.
Recreation Centers each have a theme, example Sea Breeze is just that a beachy feel when you walk in. The Eisenhower pays tribute to our military, First Responders to of course First responders, Colony has plenty of class, a new opening is Lake Okahumpka which is inspired by the steamboats that were used to travel from Ocklawaha to Lake Okahumpka.
Have a day and looking for something to do, actually more like a week? A visit to each recreation center and tour the cultural themes as many are mini museums is a great way to spend free time if you have any living here!
