Hi Scott- the first time I heard that phrase was when I moved to FL from Houston. I did not want to be there. My neighbor told me "Bloom where you are planted". It opened my eyes!

A stunning piece of art, Scott! When I lived in Paris and was on the Board of the American Women's Group in Paris we hosted two day-long events each year titled "Bloom Where You Are Planted" to help expatriate American women who were often trailing spouses get acclimated to living in Paris and enjoying the experience.

Scott Schulte hi Scott... I fell in love with Paris the first time I visited 40+ years ago. Had a dream to live there... never expected it to come true, but it did. I consider Paris to be my second home town after New York City. Simply an amazing city.

Sometimes we are "planted" in a job assignment we don't really want to do.

If we can "bloom" where we are planted: smile and work as hard as we can on the assignment, good things happen.

Congratulations on Kathy Streib picking this as one of her posts - a great choice!   I have always been proud of my son for growing where he was planted.  I think that is the best way to thrive - to adapt to your location and be the best you can in the circumstances you are given and the spot in your life that you find yourself.

I think there’s a lot to be said about a lot that was said by all of us here we all have a good head on her shoulders and can be part of the work we did here and continue to do

What an appropriate title for this art sculpture which reflects AZ and the attitude I have discovered with many Arizonians.

It's 18 foot tall monster cactus with more chrome than a 57 chevy.

I love this and love the idea.  We often forget that we are in charge of our own joy and we need to find things where we are that bring us joy.

Hi Scott,

What a beautiful work of art, and the concept is equally something to grasp and keep close.  Knowing how warm it gets in the summer, I wonder if there is any disclaimer not to touch that chrome surface!  Yikes

Hi Scott:

That is a beautiful sculpture with a wonderful message. What a pleasure it must be to see in person...and not touch in the warmer months as Sheri implied.
