Let's take a look at these two words, attention & intention:
Attention - notice taken of someone or something. Regarding something or someone that is interesting or important. Here, the meaning is something that is happening right now.
Intention - a thing intended, an aim, or a plan. This would be something aimed at the future.
The word, "intention" has become somewhat of a buzzword of late. Everyone is using this term to discuss their "intention" to do this or that. We can all, "intend" to do things but it will take action in order to make that happen.
Whatever you "intend" to do in life requires a plan of action. And then, a good plan means paying attention to the details so you can execute and achieve the goals you have set. When we pay attention and make a plan, then our intentions can be achieved.
Intention without action is simply wishful thinking. While wishful thinking can make us feel great, only the action of completing a project, reaching a goal, or achieving a new threshold will fulfill the original intent. So get busy paying attention to a plan that will help you achieve your desired intention.
This sounds like it should be simple, right? It's amazing, however, that many simply want to skip the all-important "action" phase. Remember the phrase, "you snooze, you lose."? That is what will happen with even the best of intentions!
