My love for cookbooks is well known... Endre Barath a Beverly Hills ...

Hello Endre - I was never a cookbook collector although I do remember a few that found their way to a shelf over the years.  That was in the past and I admit I don't miss any of them but still remember one The Silver Palate Cookbook from the 1980s that was actually used into the 1990s. 

A quick online search fed my appetite.  And now, I can move on. . .  

This post gives me a good idea for a possible gift to bestow upon you the next time we see each other!

Interestingly enough, I got rid of some cookbooks when I moved - so I only have about 15 left - and none are the same as yours!

Good morning Endre. The kitchen and cooking in my home are the territory of my wife. I make coffee and adult libations. She has a collection of cookbooks and an expanded file of handwritten recipes. All I know is that Italian woman can really cook evidenced by my waist size.

I used to collect cookbooks from my travels. It got quite out of hand, and I don't have room for all of them. I have well over 100. For the most part, they are packed away in boxes. It's so easy to get recipes online these days, but there's nothing like using a recipe from a favorite cookbook.

It's fun to collect cookbooks and I did in the past (have cut down now)....last Spring I bought a cook book from Cindy Harding Nannarelli who moved to Tuscany from CA in 1979 and wrote "Zucchini Blossoms." It's a culinary memoir & recipes from Tuscany which shows her avid love of Tuscany, cooking and writing. We had a private cooking class with her at her home and she and her husband were delightful! Our family so enjoyed the whole experience!

Good morning, Endre... I also have quite a collection of cook books. I recently got rid of quite a few as I never used them (now I realize I should have sent them to you). My kitchens are always built or renovated with shelving for my cook books.

Hello Endre, I wonder how many you have total, with me getting new carpet in our house, I have most of mine still pack up and in the basement.  I collect lots of cook books and my mom had more then I ever could have but my brother kept all of them when she pass.  He never cook, so I was bum.

Yes I have one of those Jamie Oliver books.  My tried and true resource is still Joy of Cooking because it covers so many basics.  Lately I find recipes online as I'm tired of keeping books ( in my small house).

Hi Endre- My mother was a collector of cookbooks!  I used to have many but like Kat Palmiotti in all of our moves, I edited my collection. 

How fun, Endre Barath, Jr.   We have recently inherited family cookbooks that go back over a century.  It is so fun to look at what people used to cook.  Hopefully these family heirlooms will be enjoyed for years to come.
