Do you need a little help with grammar?

Services for Real Estate Pros with Marte Cliff Copywriting

Many real estate agents do struggle with grammar. And that's too bad, because grammar goofs make agents look unprofessional.

Since your written words are often the first impression potential clients have of you, looking unprofessional could mean that it's the last impression.

That's why I wrote A Grammar Guide for Real Estate Agents.

I pulled together the most common grammar mistakes made by real estate professionals and put them in one comprehensive, easy-to-read e-book.

If you're making even one of these mistakes, you could be losing clients. Because while many prospective clients won't notice, some will. And right after they cringe, they'll move on to continue their search for the right agent.

Along with an explanation of the errors, this e-book offers examples of proper usage, plus simple tricks to help you remember which word to use.

If you are at all unsure of your grammar skills, get your copy and keep it handy for reference when you're writing a blog post, a property description, a letter, or even an email.

But of course, grammar isn't the only thing that matters. In fact, your grammar won't matter unless prospects read what you wrote.

That's why A Grammar Guide for Real Estate Agents comes with a bonus:

Pro Copywriting Tips for Writing
Effective Marketing Copy…

This 17-page report alerts you to the most common mistakes real estate agents make in presenting their words to the world.

These are the mistakes that make people move on without even reading the first sentence, and mistakes that cause them to leave after reading a paragraph or two.

A Grammar Guide for Real Estate Agents, along with the bonus report, is available on my website for the low price of $39.

However, for this first full week of availability, you're entitled to $10 off with the coupon code: grammar.

Good luck with the book sales!  Some people still think grammar and spelling is important.

Thanks Kat Palmiotti Many agents do need to brush up on the basics.

Funny though, I sent this out to my subscribers this morning and one of my long-time clients wrote to ask if she needed it. I assured her that no, she did not. She has grammar down pat.

I have one agent who continues to use possessive case when referring to her plural sellers or buyers.  As many times as I correct her, she doesn't get it. It drives me crazy!

Lynnea - I have a client who wrote and asked me to send the information on the guide to one of her agents, because the woman's grammar drives her crazy. Finally she bought a copy herself to print and hand to that agent.

I don't think it will help. If a person doesn't care, they don't care.

That's my pet peeve. Many platforms have spellchecks built in. Thanks for sharing

Yes, they do Sham, but it isn't always correct. I've had spell check tell me to switch to a word that was clearly wrong!

Good morning Marte,

Looks like this book will be a good seller..so many need help with their grammar! Grammar mistakes make professionals look unprofessional and no one wants that to occur!

Dorrie - mistakes can also lead to lawsuits, but those who don't care about grammar ignore that fact.

What a great idea, Marte. I hope you get lots of request for your guide. Grammar and spelling were drilled into me in grade school and while I didn't love it back then, today I am very thankful for it as those are two aspects of writing that don't bother me.

Lynnea Miller That one drives me crazy too. But it looks like your agent just doesn't want to learn the difference! Maybe you could explain that a possessive in a sentence where it doesn't belong destroys the flow of her message.

Endre Barath, Jr. You do indeed have a good excuse. But you still have better grammar than many who have no language but this one.

Sham Reddy CRS Yes they do. And sometimes those spell checks will lead you in the wrong direction!

Dorie Dillard Austin TX We'll see. Some who don't know grammar don't know that they don't know! And some don't care - or don't believe that bad grammar makes them look unprofessional.

Nina Hollander, Broker I not only had teachers who believed in grammar; I had a Mother and a Grandmother who corrected me. Sadly, today many teachers don't bother with it.

Hi Marte,
Grammar still matters. It definitely affects my impression of how professional someone is and their ability to pay attention to detail. Details matter in real estate.

BTW: Did you include the proper pronunciation of REALTOR in your book? It's bad enough that the general public mispronounces it. However, nothing drives me crazier than a REALTOR mispronouncing it.

Carol Williams No, I didn't think to do that. I should have. We had one agent here who always said Ree-la-tor - made me cringe every time.
