This month Debe Maxwell is hosting this month's challenge titled "What's Love Got to do with it". In this challenge we are to write about the town/city we live in, and why it is a great place to live and call home. There are several reasons why I love living in Middletown, CT.
Middletown, CT has been my home for almost 42 years, and I would highly recommend others to consider calling it their home as well. The following are some of the many reasons why I am always ready and happy to say Middletown CT Is A Great Place To Live And Call Home!
Middletown, CT has a wide range of housing to fit all needs, price range, and life style. Middletown has very affordable housing for first time homebuyers, to the multi-million dollar palaces, and everything in between. If it is condo living you want we have several condo complexes to choose from. If city living suits your life style better, there are homes adjacent to our downtown, as well as homes and condos within our downtown. For those who want lots of space so they are not looking at there neighbors we have that too.
Our downtown is booming and one of the happening downtowns in CT. Downtown Middletown has become one of the best places to dine in the state, whatever type of food you enjoy eating you will find it here. From Tia, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Jamaican, you name it, you will find it in Downtown Middletown. And if you are looking for entertainment after you enjoy a meal in one of our fine restaurant, that too can be found within the Downtown Area. You can treat yourself to a movie at our 12-screen Cineplex, go dancing at a small club, or enjoy a play at Oddfellow Playhouse. If you enjoy comedy, singing, or cultural arts, the Buttonwood Tree right on Main Street will fulfill your needs. And if you have a young family visit Kidcity Children’s Museum, where they have lots of special things for the kids to enjoy for hours.
Our local library, Russell Library, always has tons of events and activities going on. Those who follow my blog are well aware of the monthly book sales the Russell Library puts on every month.
Wesleyan University calls Middletown, CT home as well. Wesleyan is one of the finest Universities in the country, and is an integral part of our community. Wesleyan University makes their fieldhouse, library, and art & cultural centers available to community, many of which are totally free.
Our YMCA is the family place to be. The YMCA in Middletown has a multitude of programs for both young and old. Besides the year round programs, the Middletown YMCA has Summer camps for all age levels which provide both a learning and fun experience for campers.
The YMCA is not the only ones who provide programs for all age levels, our Park & Recreation Department also provides year round programs as well as Summer camps to keep the kids busy during Summer school vacation.
Middletown CT, also has an outstanding Chamber of Commerce which fulfills all the needs of our Business professional. My favorite Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce events are the monthly Business After Hour Events I go to every month.
If this was not enough to get you to consider calling Middletown, CT your home, I will provide one more. Middletown has a great balance of city life as well as country life. Middletown has beautiful countryside, with wildlife, wild animals, and several farms that I get to enjoy each and everyday, as you can see from the pictures below.
The above are just a few of the many reasons why I love where I live and am always ready and happy to say to others that Middletown CT Is A Great Place To Live And Call Home! Choosing Middletown, CT as the place to raised my family, and call home for the majority of my life, was one of the best decisions I have made.
