For those dwelling in the Greater Sacramento Region, there are several events happening in Old Sacramento this holiday weekend.

City of Trees Parade 2023 and Mardi Gras Festival

City of Trees Parade & Mardi Gras 2023

The Second Annual “City of Trees Parade” begins on Saturday, February 18th at 2:00 PM. It begins to roll from Capitol Mall through Old Sacramento.  The Mardi Gras Festival will be at the Old Sacramento Waterfront.  There will be local community art, food trucks and local vendors along the parade route.  A beverage garden will serve donated alcoholic beverages as a fundraiser.

It sounds like a very fun event.  We were just in Gulf Shores, Florida, and they had all of their decorations up for Mardi Gras too.  It was fun to see.

Myrl Jeffcoat - the idea of a Tree Parade is different and unique to me. How wonderful! As for that Poster, it is a one of a kind! The artistic vision, colors, and success of that drawing is really, really good!

Old Sacramento and The City of Trees Parade... what fun - love it - my kind of day.  You said you were planning to attend.  Hope nothing stopped you and that you had a fantastic time.  I love Food Trucks.  Usually those 'Trucks' serve some really tasty specials...some talented chefs!
