Kahului Harbor, Kahului Maui HI
If you fly to Maui, chances are you'll fly into Kahului Airport, OGG. Kahului is our main commercial hub, and along with the airport, there's a harbor where maritime shipping happens, and cruise ships stop in. It's not the most attractive spot on the island, but it's not bad either, and you generally won't find a lot of tourists here.
In these pictures you can see the harbor and the West Maui Mountains in the background, forming a beautiful backdrop to the blue sea. Wailuku is adjacent to Kahului and only a few miles apart, making for a bustling center to the island activities. Together, Kahului and Wailuku are considered "central" and it's a large part of our real estate market since this is where the island's population is the greatest.

Most people don't consider Kahului as a tourist destination, but there are a few hotels that are close to the airport, for a practical alternative to the resorts. The Hawaiian Canoe Club has their headquarters here in the harbor, alongside the little grassy Hoaloha Park. It's a nice spot to stroll around and snap some pictures if you find yourself in town with some time to kill.
