A year ago, my business partner and fellow Realtor, Betty Covey, opened the doors on our partnership. We'd worked together 10 years at Long Realty in Tucson AZ, (and many years experience in different places before that) and started discussing through 2019, Covid 2020, and 2021 what our business would look like.
One year, and one week ago today, we "opened" our own doors with our co-owned real estate company here in Tucson, the Golden Girls with SW Desert Homes.
We learned a lot of things our first year about keeping the books, taxes, accounting musts, and foundational set up we'd never much researched. We also grew.
First we started with Betty coming on board as an Associate Broker in April. She'd needed to get a few loose ends tied up , closed and finished first. Leslie Gilpatrick and Nicole Nelson joined us last Fall.
Leslie brought with her an in-depth knowledge of two of the more northern Tucson Active Adult communities, Highlands at Dove Mountain (Heritage Highlands) and Sun City, Oro Valley. Not to forget to mention, she also brought her killer East Coast sense of humor -- and we love it.
Nicole joins us part-time, and is celebrating her 2nd full year in real estate this year. Her clients love her nurturing style and we're happy to have her!

Last week, we were thrilled when our former manager of 7 years joined us as well, rounding out our Brokerage at Five...Golden....Girls. (Think 5 Golden Rings, Four calling birds, three...)

I‘ve been licensed to sell real estate in Arizona since 2001 and have helped hundreds of people achieve their real estate goals, whether it be a personal sale or purchase, an investment, or just advice on their particular situation. From 2013 to 2020, I was part of the management team at Long Realty, a role which allowed me to not only capitalize on my real estate background as an Associate Broker, but to utilize the skills I acquired through a 25 year career in retail management. I have been blessed with a beautiful family who all live in the Tucson area, which has allowed me to watch them grow to be amazing adults and provide me the enjoyment of being entertained by two adorable grandchildren.
