Allright, it's only Global Unplug Day.
The concept is simple. We spend waaaay too much time on our devices. In front of our cell phones, our ipads, our laptop computers, our televisions sets, blah, blah, blah.
We are supposed to pledge to set them aside, and set an example for our progeny and thereby give some hope for the future of the planet (I know, I know... I don't believe it either... it's symbolic.) Set aside some time. A day... an afternoon, a couple of hours.. maybe just a meal. Where you agree to set aside your devices. Put them away.
Put them in Al Gore's infamous "lockbox" and don't check them every waking moment. Don't send everyone pictures of what you're not eating. Don't send people images of the vacation that you're not enjoying. Just don't.
Don't post a status update on Facebook, telling people that you're taking a break from Facebook... (first of all, no you're not, and second of all, no one cares).
We can do it... right? I mean, here I am, not writing a post on my lap top about unplugging right? But this doesn't count. I'll unplug starting now. Well... not now... but... now! uh.... now!!!
pfffft now!!!
